{"id":4548,"date":"2012-02-09T13:00:45","date_gmt":"2012-02-09T19:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=4548"},"modified":"2014-09-06T14:52:30","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T20:52:30","slug":"a-decade-under-the-iwmfluence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=4548","title":{"rendered":"A decade under the IWMfluence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Sticking around is a tough act when one&#8217;s efforts fall under that loose category of \u201cindependently produced, non-corporatized media.\u201d Many smallish (and even smaller) efforts at formally disseminating journalism, prose, commentary, and poetry by the denizens of <strong>Champaign<\/strong>, <strong>Urbana<\/strong>, and the cities beyond have come and gone since we started <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> just before the Millennium. Therefore, we happily acknowledge a milestone reached by one of our surviving contemporaries by sending not-very-long distance congratulations to <strong>Troy Michael<\/strong> and his staff at <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Innocent Words Magazine<\/span><\/strong>, which <a title=\"Innocent Words Magazine reaches 10th anniversary of publication :: Innocent Words\" href=\"http:\/\/innocentwords.com\/tabId\/807\/itemId\/3439\/Innocent-Words-Magazine-Kicks-Off-10th-Anniversary.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">crossed its 10th anniversary at the tail end of 2011<\/a>. The <strong>Danville<\/strong> based on-line review of indie music and culture launched with the copy-shop <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Confronting Innocent Words\u2026<\/span><\/strong> before upgrading to a bi-monthly newsprint format distributed in downstate <strong>Illinois<\/strong> and many other American cities through numerous brick-and-mortar and mail-order record stores.
