ALIENS<\/strong> teaser in 3-D) <strong>Hollywood<\/strong> wasn&#8217;t able to offer up a single compelling commercial to air during the entire broadcast. <strong>G.I. JOE<\/strong>? Stale. <strong>YEAR ZERO<\/strong>? <em>Yawn<\/em>. <strong>FAST &amp; FURIOUS<\/strong>? <strong>Vin<\/strong>, we hardly even knew ye. And what the hell was that not-funny <strong>SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE<\/strong> sketch doing in there as a <em>de facto<\/em> <strong>Pepsi<\/strong> plug? Poser.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This is why I&#8217;d like you to lose all memories of those MacGuffins and look inward to the Midwest for a potential treat that I&#8217;m certain none of you will see coming. Unless, of course, you already happened to see <a title=\"THE COURTHOUSE GIRLS OF FARMLAND to play Normal Theater :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/articles\/2009\/02\/03\/go\/doc4980693ad5e7c810267765.txt\" target=\"_blank\">the preview article in <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Pantagraph<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, which has run its fair share of interesting film-related items as of late. Playing tonight, <strong>Tuesday, February 3<\/strong>, and tomorrow night, <strong>Wednesday, February 4<\/strong>, is <strong><a title=\"THE COURTHOUSE GIRLS OF FARMLAND :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.courthousegirls.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">THE COURTHOUSE GIRLS OF FARMLAND<\/a><\/strong>, which documents a <strong>CALENDAR GIRLS<\/strong> style effort by several young lasses in their Seventies, Eighties, and Nineties to raise money and save the eponymous courthouse in their central <strong>Indiana<\/strong> community of 1,400.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">According to the article, several of the Girls plan to make the road trip over to the <strong>Normal Theater, 209 North St., Normal, IL<\/strong>, for tonight&#8217;s screening. If they&#8217;ve got the gumption then so should you, my dear little whippersnappers.
