The on-line magazine <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Smile Politely<\/span><\/strong> approached your humble editor about discussing the <strong>Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> film world in a follow-up to <a title=\"Jason Pankoke interview 2009 :: SmilePolitely.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smilepolitely.com\/culture\/going_it_alone\/\" target=\"_blank\">their generous 2009 profile<\/a>. The result, an interview conducted by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SP<\/span> film editor <strong>Jeremiah Stanley<\/strong>, <a title=\"Jason Pankoke interview 2012 :: SmilePolitely.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smilepolitely.com\/arts\/jason_pankoke_weaves_an_artistic_tapestry\/\" target=\"_blank\">went live this past <strong>Thursday, June 28<\/strong>, for all to read, heed, and share<\/a>. While the end result is rather lengthy \u2013 we\u2019ll be the first to vote our fearlessly verbose leader <em>could<\/em> have been edited a bit \u2013 we hope you will dive right in and eat up the food for thought!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The lynchpin this time is not <strong>C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> but our little print \u2018zine that could, <strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong>. We discuss how it has developed since the first issue infiltrated the C-U five years ago and pontificate over various aspects of the wondrous little subculture it characterizes. Other topics include your editor\u2019s influences as a younger man, his apparent obsession with the movies, the disparity of film culture coverage in Champaign-Urbana media as a whole, the drive to incorporate local music into local movies, and a cool-headed assessment of <strong>40 North 88 West<\/strong>\u2019s prominence in our arts scene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since he is invoked by Stanley\u2019s interview question regarding <a title=\"THE TRANSIENT @ Kill Vampire Lincoln Productions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.killvampirelincoln.com\/TheTransient\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>THE TRANSIENT<\/strong><\/a>, we feel there is no better time than the present to introduce someone who had never appeared in our outlets <em>at all<\/em> until <strong>CUZine #6<\/strong> arrived two weeks ago. We thank former President <strong>Abraham Lincoln<\/strong> for allowing us to reconcile this <em>grave<\/em> oversight and breathe easy knowing the only signs of disapproval expressed by Mr. Lincoln involved a bit of teeth gnashing.
