This coming <strong>Thursday, November 1<\/strong>, festival passes will go on sale at <strong>8 a.m.<\/strong> for the 15th annual <a title=\"Roger Ebert's Film Festival :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ebertfest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Roger Ebert\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong><\/a> which will take place <strong>April 17-21, 2013<\/strong>, at the renovated <strong>Virginia Theatre<\/strong> in downtown Champaign! According to the Virginia Web site \u2013 which is in transition itself; <a title=\"The Virginia Theatre :: Champaign Park District, Champaign, IL\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thevirginia.org\/original\/index2.html\" target=\"_blank\">here\u2019s the previous design<\/a> and the <a title=\"The Virginia Theatre :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thevirginia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">currently-under-construction version<\/a> \u2013 passes can be purchased in person at the box office at <strong>203 W. Park Ave., Champaign, IL<\/strong>, over the phone when you call <strong>(217) 356-9063<\/strong>, and through the Internet by visiting the aforementioned pages and selecting the proper \u201cPurchase On-line\u201d button. As always, \u201c<strong>Ebertfest<\/strong>\u201d is a presentation of the <a title=\"College of Media :: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\" href=\"http:\/\/media.illinois.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Those at UIUC who might be interested in making films would do well to look into this weekend\u2019s <strong>49-Hour Film Festival<\/strong>, a popular challenge offered annually by <a title=\"Illini Film &amp; Video :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.illinifilmandvideo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Illini Film &amp; Video<\/strong><\/a>. Teams numbering five members or less will have 49 hours, from <strong>5 p.m.<\/strong> on <strong>Friday, November 2<\/strong>, to<strong> 5 p.m.<\/strong> on <strong>Sunday, November 4<\/strong>, to create a short film incorporating prompts chosen by IFV\u2019s board. (Daylight Savings Time kicks in during the challenge, hence the extra hour.) Judges will then award winners based on various criteria at a public screening to be held within the next few weeks!
