One of them is <a title=\"SCARY NORMAL @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/scarynormal\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>SCARY NORMAL<\/strong><\/a>, the directorial debut of <strong>Jennifer Bechtel<\/strong> (<strong>LEADING LADIES<\/strong>) starring <strong>Laura Anne Welle, April Cleveland, Mike Trippiedi<\/strong>, and <strong>Chris Taber<\/strong>, <a title=\"Announcing: Abigail Stauffer, Staceyann Chin and Scary Normal! :: MBLGTACC 2013\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mblgtacc2013.org\/994\" target=\"_blank\">scheduled to take its first bow <strong>February 9<\/strong><\/a> during the <strong>Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference<\/strong>, hosted this year by <strong>Michigan State University<\/strong> in <strong>Lansing, MI<\/strong>. Outwardly the more lighthearted of the two, <strong>SCARY NORMAL<\/strong> concerns a teen protagonist who discovers feelings for another young woman as her chaotic family life plays out in the background. We\u2019re sure Bechtel will let us know when the film first plays the C-U so we can invite you all to see it; LGBT friendly groups might consider her <a title=\"Fundraiser Opportunity ::: ScaryNormalMovie.com\" href=\"http:\/\/scarynormalmovie.com\/fundraiser-opportunity\/\" target=\"_blank\">just-announced program through which they can raise funding for their own work<\/a> by screening <strong>SCARY NORMAL<\/strong> at no cost!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>4 :: MIKE BOEDICKER READIES THIRD FEATURE,<br \/>\nPROFILED IN NEWS-GAZETTE Q&amp;A<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Several weeks ago, your humble editor attended a rough cut screening of <strong>HAUNTINGS<\/strong> directed by <strong>Mike Boedicker<\/strong> of <a title=\"Roselawn Productions :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.roselawnproductions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Roselawn Productions<\/strong><\/a> in <strong>Danville<\/strong>. The dramatic feature tells the story of a couple played by <strong>Joi Hoffsommer<\/strong> and <strong>Bill Kephart<\/strong> who move into a mansion saddled with a murky history involving mysticism and murder. Once the post-production team finishes refining the edit and Boedicker chooses a release title, we\u2019ll hopefully join each and every one of you when this well-acted follow-up to Roselawn\u2019s <strong>REVOLTING<\/strong> (2010) and <strong>SHOW<\/strong> (2006) plays the C-U as well! Leskosky<\/strong> singles out several movie lovers\u2019 resources he is thankful for, most of them located in the C-U including the <strong>Art Theater Co-op, That\u2019s Rentertainment, Roger Ebert\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong>, the <strong>Insect Fear Film Festival<\/strong>, and \u2026 <strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong>! (He <em>did<\/em> generously write for our last issue, but let\u2019s not digress.) Not content to simply oversee <strong>Champaign Movie Makers<\/strong>, advise the <strong>C-U Film Society<\/strong>, and make his own damn movies, Nicol recently <a title=\"QuantumCat Animation :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/quantumcatanimation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">launched the info-blog<\/a> <strong>QuantumCat Animation<\/strong> which details his adventures in filmmaking \u2013 particularly from a craft standpoint \u2013 as well as comment on movie subjects at large. Elsewhere, those wanting to expand their own reach might visit the brand-new Web site for the <a title=\"40 North 88 West :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.40north.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>40 North 88 West<\/strong> arts council<\/a> of Champaign County, which invites area artists to <a title=\"&quot;Artist Profiles&quot; directory :: 40North.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.40north.org\/resources\/artist-performer\" target=\"_blank\">add information to their on-line directory<\/a> for free. This includes <em>you<\/em>, media-making types!
