LOCALLY-MADE CINEMA ADDS TO BONEYARD FLAVOR AT FOURTH ANNUAL NEW ART FILM FESTIVAL!<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Champaign, Illinois) March 31, 2013:<\/strong> The New Art Film Festival<\/strong> <\/a>(NAFF) will proudly present its fourth annual showcase of locally and regionally-made independent films at the Art Theater Co-op<\/a>, 126 W. Church St.<\/strong>, downtown Champaign, Illinois<\/strong>. It will begin with introductions at 4 p.m.<\/strong> and conclude its final block of films at 11:30 p.m.<\/strong> The NAFF is presented by C-U Confidential<\/strong> and sponsored by ThirdSide<\/strong><\/a> and the Champaign-Urbana Film Society<\/strong><\/a>, and is also a part of the Boneyard Arts Festival<\/strong> organized by the 40 North 88 West<\/strong><\/a> arts council.<\/p>\n


\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Highlights of the 2013 NAFF schedule include:<\/em><\/p>\n

Art Theater 100th anniversary<\/strong> \u2013 Local theater historian Perry C. Morris<\/strong> will talk about the history and longevity of the Art, which will reach its 100th birthday in November, as well as upcoming special projects designed to mark the milestone.<\/p>\n

THE ACTUAL, AUTHENTIC VERSION OF WHO YOU SAY I AM<\/strong> \u2013 University of Illinois<\/strong> theater instructor Robert Anderson<\/strong> and Brooklyn<\/strong> filmmaker Mark P. Ring<\/strong> team up to tell the story of actress Karen Vaccaro<\/strong>\u2019s one-woman show, And I Remember<\/strong><\/span>, and the three ladies with downstate Illinois ties who inspired it.<\/p>\n

ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1977<\/strong> \u2013 The scientists in loud outfits battle the robots in even louder<\/em> outfits one final time in the third \u201cretro Seventies transistorpunk\u201d comedic opus from Chris<\/strong> and Anne Lukeman<\/strong> of Champaign\u2019s Kill Vampire Lincoln Productions<\/strong>. Featuring a cameo by Champaign mayor Don Gerard<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

UP THE CREEK: \u201cSHOTGUN WEDDING\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 This popular Web series, about a winery staff and its hilarious misadventures, is produced by Sleepy Creek Films<\/strong> of Fairmount<\/strong>. In Episode 6, vintner Antonio matches wits against a beer-worshiping hillbilly for the hand of his daughter in marriage.<\/p>\n

BEYOND THE BASEMENT DOOR<\/strong> \u2013 Bloomington-Normal<\/strong> native Jason Huls<\/strong> returned downstate from Chicagoland to shoot this science-fiction drama starring Steve Christopher<\/strong> as a researcher miraculously cured of cancer due to forbidden knowledge that is barricaded downstairs.<\/p>\n
