{"id":6292,"date":"2013-05-31T14:00:54","date_gmt":"2013-05-31T20:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=6292"},"modified":"2014-09-06T14:48:31","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T20:48:31","slug":"iow-setting-fire-to-leafy-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=6292","title":{"rendered":"IOW: Setting \u201cFire\u201d to leafy fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Given <a title=\"Events we RIYL DIY filmmaking :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=6269\" target=\"_blank\">yesterday\u2019s post about do-it-yourself film projects and events<\/a>, it made perfect sense to follow up with an \u201c<strong>Image of the Week<\/strong>\u201d featuring a <a title=\"Boxes hit the spot with Mr. Orion :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=784\" target=\"_blank\">hands-on local musician who has appeared<\/a> on <strong>C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> <a title=\"IOW: Whole lotta HarsH 2 B had :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=4311\" target=\"_blank\">more than once<\/a>, <strong>Urbana<\/strong>\u2019s <a title=\"Morgan Orion :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.morganorion.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Morgan Orion<\/strong><\/a>. The following video to his tune, \u201c<strong>Fire in Blood<\/strong>,\u201d was submitted too late for us to include in last month\u2019s <strong>New Art Film Festival<\/strong> but we said, \u201cWhat the hey, we like it so we\u2019ll share it!\u201d Our favorite antifolk crooner dons sweet cowboy threads for the clip in which he strums guitar by the proverbial tracks while, on a different day, he and friends race through a neighborhood in burlap sacks only to crash through lovely piles of fallen leaves every chance they get. <strong>Matt HarsH<\/strong> and <a title=\"Sam Ambler @ YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/sambler1\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sam Ambler<\/strong><\/a> produced as with the prior clips, while <strong>Joe Frieburg, Tad Boehmer, Dave Tcheng, Sara Sasaki<\/strong>, and engineer <strong>Paul Kotheimer<\/strong> performed on the track with Orion. Additional songs and albums can be <a title=\"Morgan Orion @ Bandcamp\" href=\"http:\/\/morganorion.bandcamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">accessed through <strong>Bandcamp<\/strong><\/a>, of course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On a side note, Ambler more recently contributed to one of the <strong>Pens to Lens<\/strong> shorts we mentioned yesterday, <strong>SUPER DUPER LOW<\/strong>, directed by his former co-worker <strong>Mike Trippiedi<\/strong> and featuring voice work by his father, well-regarded <strong>Station Theater<\/strong> veteran <strong>Gary Ambler<\/strong>. <strong>SUPER DUPER LOW<\/strong> stars young script writer <strong>Quinn F.<\/strong> as \u201cSuper Quinn,\u201d a flying heroine in battle with an evil robot. She suddenly pauses to inject insulin since she is diabetic; the break gives Super Quinn a chance to tell her nemesis \u2013 and the film\u2019s audience \u2013 about the disease and how it is controlled. In an artist\u2019s statement, Trippiedi recalls they designed <strong>SUPER DUPER LOW<\/strong> to feel as if it was actually produced by children for children, making the subject matter palatable to Quinn-aged peers.
