We have the first scoop on both projects and initial notes on how we might help our neighboring producers in those neighboring college towns to take their narrative escapades to successful fruition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Later tonight, <strong>Saturday, June 1<\/strong>, from <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> to <strong>midnight<\/strong>, a fundraiser for the horror-comedy <a title=\"THE GRAVEYARD MENACE @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheGraveyardMenace\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>THE GRAVEYARD MENACE<\/strong><\/a> will take place at the <strong>Main St. Bar &amp; Grill, 517 N. Main St.<\/strong>, downtown <strong>Bloomington<\/strong>. Producer and director <strong>Chase Cavalera<\/strong>, who also stars as the titular fiend brought back to life by wayward teens in a Midwestern cemetery, will show footage shot previously in B-N and Chicagoland as well as new teasers introducing cast and crew. <strong>Chicago<\/strong> rock band <strong>My God, the Heat<\/strong> will perform with other bands to fill out the evening, and cost will be $10 with a 21-and-over entry age. More generous benefactors can contribute extra in exchange for an on-screen thank you or producer\u2019s credit. Below is the trailer we included in this year\u2019s <strong>New Art Film Festival<\/strong> which is absolutely nothing but grisly Menace, a quality that will be tempered in the final product per Cavalera:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><object width=\"450\" height=\"252\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/hWVTISgBW7w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"450\" height=\"252\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/hWVTISgBW7w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Rocking on a different wavelength is <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong>, a debut feature project from the<strong> Los Angeles<\/strong>-based producing team of <strong>Andy Wagner<\/strong> and <strong>Andy Steadman<\/strong>, the latter a B-N native and <strong>Illinois State University<\/strong> alumnus. <a title=\"For his first movie, B-N native Andy Steadman returns to his roots :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/entertainment\/go\/for-his-first-movie-b-n-native-andy-steadman-returns\/article_82fb8e54-c315-11e2-b093-0019bb2963f4.html\" target=\"_blank\">As you can glean from this <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Pantagraph<\/strong><\/span> profile<\/a>, Steadman has already lived a jack-of-all-entertainment-trades in his young life, including eight years\u2019 worth of West Coast stints as actor, comedian, art department assistant, and <strong>Universal Studios<\/strong> tour guide, which will hopefully lend to this endeavor. The movie will star Steadman, Wagner, <strong>Jane Noseworthy<\/strong>, and <strong>Julie Carlson<\/strong> as hometown friends who attempt to revive their indie band, <strong>Burn Daylight<\/strong>, a decade after its peak in popularity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Amongst other unique aspects in preparing to shoot <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong>, the progress of which you can follow through <a title=\"WE HAD THIS BAND @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WeHadThisBand\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a>, <a title=\"WE HAD THIS BAND @ Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WeHadThisBand\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Twitter<\/strong>, <\/a><a title=\"WE HAD THIS BAND @ Kickstarter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/102018403\/we-had-this-band-an-indie-rock-feature-film\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Kickstarter<\/strong><\/a>, and <a title=\"WE HAD THIS BAND @ Tumblr\" href=\"http:\/\/wehadthisband.tumblr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Tumblr<\/strong><\/a>, is the quartet playing out as Burn Daylight in various L.A. rock clubs. These warm-up gigs will help them get ready to perform alongside several local and regional acts on <strong>July 7<\/strong> at <a title=\"The Castle Theatre :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thecastletheatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Castle Theatre<\/strong><\/a> in downtown Bloomington during a real-life benefit concert, the <strong>Tornado Belly Rock Festival<\/strong>. Of course, their appearance will be captured for use in the feature and extras will be solicited to fill the Castle auditorium that evening!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Filming for <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong> is scheduled to commence mid-June, while <strong>THE GRAVEYARD MENACE<\/strong> will resume production shortly.
