It fell victim to technical issues, unfortunately, so we instead fan its mystical flames right here and now! This sophomore clip promoting the album <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">April\u2019s Empire<\/span><\/strong> from <a title=\"The Duke of Uke and His Novelty Orchestra @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dukeofukemusic\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Duke of Uke and His Novelty Orchestra<\/strong><\/a> is for a lovely mid-tempo rag with soaring choruses, \u201cSomething to Believe,\u201d directed and edited by bandmates <strong>Lorene Anderson<\/strong> and <strong>Claire Cannon<\/strong>. (They also concocted <a title=\"IOW: Make it a scene, Lorene! :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=5241\" target=\"_blank\">last fall\u2019s \u201cJump Back\u201d video<\/a>, which kicked off the NAFF to thunderous applause.) In it, the Fool (ring leader <strong>Dave King<\/strong>, the Duke of Uke) filters in and out of a battle between the Queen of Swords (drummer <strong>Rebecca Rury Burlingame<\/strong>) and Death (guest star <strong>Erik Anderson<\/strong>) leading to \u2013 what else? \u2013 a costume party, staged in Urbana\u2019s <strong>Channing-Murray Foundation<\/strong>. <strong>Alysa Haas<\/strong> and Cannon photographed the colorful affair, featuring two dozen bizarrely-dressed townies cutting some creative rug.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Other than in recordings such as this band-made opus and various fan-taped souvenirs floating \u2018round the Interwebs, opportunities for the C-U faithful to enjoy the Novelty Orchestra in concert are running out as the group \u2013 currently made up of King, Burlingame, Anderson, Cannon, <strong>Anna Hochhalter, David Garcia<\/strong>, and <strong>Sarah Cramer<\/strong> \u2013 will relocate to <strong>New Orleans, Louisiana<\/strong>, at summer\u2019s end. Therefore, do yourself a big groovy favor and catch their infectious dynamism live while you can! Their next local gig takes place later today, <strong>Saturday, June 15<\/strong>, starting at\u00a0<strong>6 p.m.<\/strong> at the <strong>Iron Post, 120 S.
