Of course, it is <em>much<\/em> more a waiting game for general bystanders as it is the core team that is out there, somewhere, working hard on applying post-production mojo to their baby including reshoots, picture editing, color correction, sound design, music composition, visual effects, and titles. For media outlets like <strong>C-U Blogfidential<\/strong>, always keeping one eye open for signs of filmic life, it can be feast or famine in terms of what coverage we can allot to any given topic that is timely but accurate. In certain cases we\u2019re sent regular updates if not an insider scoop or two, keeping our interest piqued, while in other circumstances we have to patiently wait in the dark along with everyone else residing in the wings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When it came time to assemble <strong>C-U Confidential #7<\/strong> last fall, area native <strong>Andrew Steadman<\/strong> was generous with quotes and exclusive pictures relating to <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a title=\"No vacay for B-N movie-makers :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=6306\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">his musician-centered indie drama <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong>, filmed in <strong>Bloomington-Normal<\/strong> a year ago<\/span><\/a><\/span>. \u201cWe had a crazy summer! Our shoot was a success,\u201d Steadman relayed to <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> back in September. \u201cOur crew of 30 to 40 included people from <strong>Los Angeles<\/strong> and <strong>Chicago<\/strong>, as well as students from <strong>Illinois Wesleyan, Illinois State, DePaul<\/strong>, and <strong>Southern Illinois<\/strong> [universities]. The Town of Normal and City of Bloomington were both extremely helpful, allowing us to shoot scenes in areas such as <strong>Uptown Station<\/strong> in Normal. Businesses such as [the now-closed] <strong>Chill Out! Yogurt<\/strong> and <strong>The Coffeehouse and Deli<\/strong> donated their space to the crew while others like <strong>Emack &amp; Bolio\u2019s, Mother Murphy\u2019s<\/strong>, and <strong>Waiting Room Records<\/strong> were used as shooting locations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The production\u2019s biggest scene involved filling <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a title=\"Castle Theatre shuts its doors :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=117\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">a former movie house, the <strong>Castle Theatre<\/strong> in downtown Bloomington<\/span><\/a><\/span>, with concertgoers for a real-life benefit staged for the film. \u201cWe did 18 days [of shooting in B-N] wrapping with the <strong>Tornado Belly Rock Festival<\/strong> at <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a title=\"The Castle Theatre :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thecastletheatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">the Castle<\/span><\/a><\/span> on <strong>July 7<\/strong>,\u201d continued Steadman. &#8220;This show featured performances by <strong>WitchFeet, Steven<\/strong>, and <strong>The Red Hot Valentines<\/strong> [a former <strong>Champaign<\/strong> group reunited for the occasion, and] thanks to donations by the fans, we were able to make a small contribution to both the <strong>Hammitt Elementary School<\/strong> at <strong>The Baby Fold<\/strong> and the <strong>Pratt Music Foundation<\/strong>.\u201d Sporadic updates since posted to their various social media accounts, <a title=\"WE HAD THIS BAND :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wehadthisband.com\/We_Had_This_Band\/WE_HAD_THIS_BAND.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">accessible through this bare-bones Web site<\/span><\/a>, have focused on public appearances and recording sessions by <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong> lead actors <strong>Andy Wagner, Julie Carlson, Jane Noseworthy<\/strong>, and Steadman performing as <a title=\"Burn Daylight @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/burndaylightuntildawn\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">their characters\u2019 group, <strong>Burn Daylight<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">More recent statuses have teased both a Burn Daylight EP and a complete rough cut of the film. We will provide you current news about <strong>WE HAD THIS BAND<\/strong> when Steadman and friends come up for air, including the inevitable downstate <strong>Illinois<\/strong> play dates, illustrated with images by set photographer <strong>Jamie Day<\/strong>.
