To distract you this holiday week from the physical absence of <strong>C-U Confidential #8<\/strong>, which is <em>almost<\/em> ready for press as of this writing, <a title=\"Shatterglass Studios :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/shatterglassstudios.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Shatterglass Studios<\/strong><\/span><\/a> has just dropped its annual video tribute to <a title=\"Roger Ebert's Film Festival :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ebertfest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Roger Ebert\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. All the expected guests \u2013 <strong>Oliver Stone, Steve James, Brie Larson, Spike Lee, Haiffa Al-Mansour<\/strong>, etc. \u2013 and figureheads \u2013 <strong>Chaz Ebert, Nate Kohn<\/strong> \u2013 appear in the piece, designed by director <strong>Luke Boyce<\/strong> and his collaborators to extract the sense of wonder and community engendered by attending the event, a signature function of the <a title=\"College of Media :: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\" href=\"http:\/\/media.illinois.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>College of Media at the University of Illinois<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. Be sure to watch through the end credits for some laugh-out-loud zingers courtesy of <strong>Patton Oswalt<\/strong>, making good on his pledge to appear at \u201c<strong>Ebertfest<\/strong>\u201d after having to cancel two years prior. If you\u2019re a regular then we don\u2019t have to set this up any further. If you have yet to partake, we\u2019ll allow one <strong>Sam Fragoso<\/strong> of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Forbes<\/strong><\/span> to <a title=\"A Video Tribute to the Best Film Festival In the World :: Forbes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/samfragoso\/2014\/12\/19\/a-video-tribute-to-the-best-film-festival-in-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">efficiently pose some of the virtues<\/span><\/a> long cited as setting this movie showcase apart from nearly everything else making up the festival circuit in <strong>North America<\/strong>. Sadly, we overreached our means in attempting to recount 2014, as our series has stalled since <a title=\"Article du C-U: Ebertfest \u201914, pt.4 :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=7694\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">this post from August<\/span><\/a>. Beyond practicality issues, entertainment media at large allots the show plenty of attention; we could readily divert our resources elsewhere without a crisis of conscience.
