We\u2019d like to plunk down one of our patented omnibus posts to help you catch up on cinematic activities stemming from <strong>Champaign, Urbana<\/strong>, and the cities beyond. This time, our particular stress is in helping out these respective parties with their goals and strengthening our media-making subculture in the process. However much or little you can provide or participate, we think you will find both satisfaction <em>and<\/em> fun in enabling their success! To that end\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>A need for student-written film scripts and student-made films<\/em><\/span> has been signaled by the <strong>Champaign-Urbana Film Society<\/strong>, which is now accepting entries for both its third annual <a title=\"How to enter the Screenwriting Competition :: Pens to Lens\" href=\"http:\/\/penstolens.com\/participation\/how-to-enter\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Pens to Lens Screenwriting Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and first-ever <a title=\"How to enter the High School Film Festival :: Pens to Lens\" href=\"http:\/\/penstolens.com\/high-school-film-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Pens to Lens High School Film Festival<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. Winning entries of the former will be made into short subjects by local filmmakers as in prior years; those finished works, as well as the chosen submissions from the latter, will be presented during gala public showings at summer\u2019s end\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>A need for extras and other crew positions<\/em><\/span> has been voiced by <strong>Danny Hill<\/strong>, a young video producer and photographer from Champaign who is in pre-production on his first full-length movie, <strong>HOLLY<\/strong>, described as a \u201cfast-paced thriller\u201d <a title=\"HOLLY @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HollyTheMovie\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">per this <strong>Facebook<\/strong> page<\/span><\/a>. Other <strong>HD Productions<\/strong> projects include the comedy Web series <strong>DOWNTOWN<\/strong> and an Internet interview show, <strong>ALMOST INTIMATE<\/strong>. <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> previously <a title=\"Flu? C-U fights INFECTION :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=5749\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">told you about Hill\u2019s zombie apocalypse short<\/span><\/a> <strong>INFECTION<\/strong> two years ago\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>A need for fundraising<\/em><\/span> has arisen for Champaign filmmaker <strong>Robin Christian<\/strong> and <a title=\"Dreamscape Cinema :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamscape.la\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Dreamscape Cinema<\/strong><\/span><\/a> as they begin development of a documentary titled <strong>LIVES MATTER<\/strong>, which will aim to tell \u201cboth sides of these very real stories\u201d stemming from aggravated encounters between police officers and urban youth.
