We\u2019re still chasing around a minor flurry of cinema efforts that has been falling on <strong>Champaign, Urbana<\/strong>, and the cities beyond since the fall season, for who are we to not give the gift of local film gab with <em>so much<\/em> tingling on the tips of our tongues? (Those with short-term movie memory can refresh <a title=\"In space, all you need is NINJA :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=8551\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">beginning with this<\/span><\/a>. Here\u2019s <a title=\"IOW: Xmas show HURT-a so good :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=8666\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">another<\/span><\/a>. And, <a title=\"IOW: We are all SHORTCHANGED :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=8677\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">another still<\/span><\/a>. If you don\u2019t <a title=\"IOW: Go BTS in local ART series :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=8761\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">get the idea by now<\/span><\/a>, we\u2019re simply not sure what to do about you.) We now resume catching up on all relevant stories to tell, beginning with the oldest example in the bunch that we should have relayed when it was timely\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Yet, why <em>not<\/em> make the case that <strong>Kimberly Conner<\/strong>\u2019s feature <strong>JUMP IN<\/strong> is equally as noteworthy today? Shot on a shoestring in <strong>Springfield<\/strong> and <strong>Chicago<\/strong> nearly two years ago by this tireless lady and her collaborators, <a title=\"JUMP IN :: Maverick Entertainment Group\" href=\"http:\/\/www.maverickentertainment.cc\/movies\/movie.php?id=921\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">the film received a DVD berth<\/span><\/a> from genre indie distributor <strong>Maverick Entertainment Group<\/strong> back on <strong>Tuesday, September 23<\/strong>, and is available at all the expected on-line markets. <strong>Sheree Bynum, Dingazi Beza, Karen Malina White, Michael Higginbottom, Thea Camara<\/strong>, and <strong>Kevin Craig West<\/strong> star in a low-key exploration of relationships among contemporary African-American adults, every thread revolving around the efforts of law student Troy Alexander (Bynum) to power through school, a broken marriage, and a breast cancer diagnosis in order to find happiness and accomplishment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We are <em>so<\/em> behind in the progress of Conner and her <strong>Predestined Arts &amp; Entertainment<\/strong> company, in fact, that we have barely talked about the <em>follow-up<\/em> to <strong>JUMP IN<\/strong>. Filmed late summer of last year in the general Springfield area and currently in postproduction, <strong>BEFORE \u2018I DO\u2019<\/strong> features actors <strong>Jensen Atwood<\/strong> and <strong>Omar Gooding<\/strong> as small town firefighters with the former\u2019s character \u201cCaleb\u201d facing a midlife crossroads after being stood up at the altar. <strong>Andrea Kelly, Danielle Ward, Kathleen Turner, Michael Pittman, Joel Patrick King<\/strong>, and Camara also appear as various friends, allies, and romantic interests. Since a spring 2015 premiere has already been hinted by Conner, such as <a title=\"To JUMP IN is highly Predestined :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=5839\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">the one held in the capital city<\/span><\/a> for <strong>JUMP IN<\/strong> last March, we have no doubt <a title=\"BEFORE 'I DO' @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BeforeIDoTheMovie\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">an announcement on that front is forthcoming<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can hear a bit more about <strong>BEFORE \u2018I DO\u2019<\/strong> from Conner, Atwood, Gooding, and Kelly in the news segment below.
