Or, better yet, the ones that follow.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Michael Bach and RobotMan listen to Chris Lukeman\" alt=\"Michael Bach and RobotMan listen to Chris Lukeman\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanB.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Not having given up the ghost after spearheading the student film epic, <strong>THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS VS. A MUMMY<\/strong>, UIUC graduate <strong>Chris Lukeman<\/strong> (wearing fashionable <strong>MUMMY<\/strong> duds) revives an off-campus creation as a tool with which\u00a0to instruct current members of the <strong>Illini Film &#038; Video<\/strong> club.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Chris Lukeman demonstrates finesse behind the camera\" alt=\"Chris Lukeman demonstrates finesse behind the camera\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanC.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a title=\"Illini Film &#038; Video :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.illinifilmandvideo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Illini\u00a0Film &#038; Video<\/a> (IFV)\u00a0regular <strong>Michael Bach<\/strong> (of &#8220;Horror Stories&#8221; fame) squares off against &#8220;RobotMan,&#8221; an impressive costume constructed by\u00a0Lukeman and friends in the Springfield, Illinois, area for a prior 40-minute short, <strong>ROBOTMAN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"One Man. One RobotMan. Only one will survive!\" alt=\"One Man. One RobotMan. Only one will survive!\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanD.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Such public displays of mayhem are\u00a0arranged by\u00a0IFV president <strong>Alex Wayman<\/strong> as an accesible outing\u00a0during which new members can see veterans at work and join in if they desire.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Alternate angles reveal RobotMan's true nature\" alt=\"Alternate angles reveal RobotMan's true nature\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanE.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Echoing a policy used during the making of <strong>MUMMY<\/strong>, the creature is portrayed by multiple people to insure that RobotVolunteers get a break after enduring the heavy costume for multiple takes.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Michael Bach puts his best grimace forward\" alt=\"Michael Bach puts his best grimace forward\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanF.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The plot for &#8220;Untitled RobotMan Short&#8221; involves Bach finding a gleaming automation in front of <strong>That&#8217;s Rentertainment<\/strong> (where else?), seemingly gift-wrapped for the taking. His interest in the seven-foot-tall freebee waxes and wanes in rapid succession as he pieces together a cardboard sign, suspiciously torn to shreds and littered about the sidewalk\u00a0&#8211; not that such littering <em>ever<\/em> happens in Campustown.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Anne Shivers examines the Strangest Cue Card Ever\" alt=\"Anne Shivers examines the Strangest Cue Card Ever\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog%20Art\/cu_robotmanG.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Anne Shivers<\/strong>, current IFV secretary and &#8220;Moon Gal&#8221; in <strong>MUMMY<\/strong>, provides a good look at a shard of RobotMan&#8217;s enigmatic message. Has he come to Earth with a mission of peace or merely bent on bloody carnage?
