This time, the spirits of the fabled <strong><a title=\"The Avon Theatre :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theavon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Avon Theatre<\/a><\/strong> will be rattled not by the decibels of modern features but the audible &#8220;oohs&#8221; and &#8220;ahhs&#8221; of the living as they watch classic silent cinema during <strong>Skip Huston<\/strong>&#8216;s next film course beginning <strong>Thursday, August 13, 6:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This six-week outing will feature <strong>John Ford<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>THE IRON HORSE<\/strong>, <strong>Alfred Hitchcock<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>THE LODGER<\/strong>, <strong>BARDELAYS THE MAGNIFICENT <\/strong>with <strong>John Gilbert<\/strong>, an early <strong>PETER PAN<\/strong>, the oft-cited <strong>THE JAZZ SINGER <\/strong>with <strong>Al Jolson<\/strong>, and <strong>Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.<\/strong>&#8216;s final silent, <strong>THE IRON MASK<\/strong>. (For once, Prof. Skip is <em>not <\/em>keeping tight-lipped on the selections!) Cost is $60 for the series and payable directly to <strong>Ripper Entertainment<\/strong> (the Avon&#8217;s parent company) instead of <strong>Richland Community College <\/strong>as with prior classes.
