It is rewarding for C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> to take notice of friends and neighbors gradually finding their footing in the movie-making ranks. Currently we have on our radar Urbana resident John Isberg<\/strong>, a special education teacher by trade who has a long history playing in Chicago<\/strong> and Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> groups<\/span><\/a> such as The Firebird Band, Evil Tents<\/strong>, and Tigerbeat<\/strong>, for his name has appeared several times on recent media projects. Along with interning for the independent feature drama CONSUMED<\/strong> and volunteering on last year\u2019s Pens to Lens<\/strong> offerings, Isberg has begun producing his own efforts under the name Swede Films<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. These include music videos for Motes<\/strong> and Rebecca Rego & the Trainmen<\/strong> as well as a six-minute profile of Exile on Main Street<\/strong> and owner Jeff Brandt<\/strong> released concurrently with last month\u2019s Record Store Day<\/strong>. In progress is his largest D.I.Y. undertaking yet, the full-length documentary THE GHOST COWBOY<\/strong>, anchored by the story of stroke survivor and Champaign-Urbana Paranormal Society<\/strong><\/span><\/a> founder and investigator Bob Davies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
