Currently we have on our radar Urbana resident <strong>John Isberg<\/strong>, a special education teacher by trade who has <a title=\"Never finished, just abandoned :: Smile Politely\" href=\"http:\/\/smilepolitely.com\/music\/never_finished_just_abandoned\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">a long history playing in <strong>Chicago<\/strong> and <strong>Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> groups<\/span><\/a> such as <strong>The Firebird Band, Evil Tents<\/strong>, and <strong>Tigerbeat<\/strong>, for his name has appeared several times on recent media projects. Along with interning for the independent feature drama <strong>CONSUMED<\/strong> and volunteering on last year\u2019s <strong>Pens to Lens<\/strong> offerings, Isberg has begun producing his own efforts under the name <a title=\"Swede Films @ Tumblr\" href=\"http:\/\/swedefilms.tumblr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Swede Films<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. These include music videos for <strong>Motes<\/strong> and <strong>Rebecca Rego &amp; the Trainmen<\/strong> as well as a six-minute profile of <strong>Exile on Main Street<\/strong> and owner <strong>Jeff Brandt<\/strong> released concurrently with last month\u2019s <strong>Record Store Day<\/strong>. In progress is his largest D.I.Y. undertaking yet, the full-length documentary <strong>THE GHOST COWBOY<\/strong>, anchored by the story of stroke survivor and <a title=\"Champaign-Urbana Paranormal Society :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cuparanormal.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Champaign-Urbana Paranormal Society<\/strong><\/span><\/a> founder and investigator <strong>Bob Davies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/124763711\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/124763711\">Profile: &#8220;Exile on Main Street&#8221; Records<\/a><\/span> from <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/user31047464\">Swede Films<\/a><\/span> on <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Isberg will share his observations in <strong>COWBOY<\/strong> wrangling later tonight when he participates in <a title=\"Champaign-Urbana, IL :: PechaKucha\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pechakucha.org\/cities\/champaign-urbana\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">the 18th local edition of \u201c<strong>PechaKucha Night<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,\u201d presented by the <a title=\"Champaign-Urbana Design Organization :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/thecudo.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Champaign-Urbana Design Organization<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (CUDO) and based on the appealing presentation format of \u201c20 slides X 20 seconds\u201d originated in <strong>Japan<\/strong>. The roster also includes <strong>Karen Carney, Mac Condill, Mamie Hobbs<\/strong> and <strong>Sophie Roney, Jack Marck, Terry Welker<\/strong>, fellow filmmaker <strong>Ed Glaser<\/strong> (<strong>PRESS START<\/strong>) on <a title=\"IOW: Saturday mash-up matinee :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=6908\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">the surreal Italian re-edit of the original <strong>GODZILLA<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and <strong>Eric Benson<\/strong> and <strong>Megan Diddie<\/strong> on experimenting with plant fiber use at their <strong>University of Illinois<\/strong> research lab, <a title=\"Fress Press :: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\" href=\"http:\/\/freshpress.illinois.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Fresh Press<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.
