This is because we can finally share with you the list of nearly 40 shorts that will play the sixth annual <strong>New Art Film Festival<\/strong>, our free show at <strong>The Art Theater Co-op<\/strong> in downtown <strong>Champaign, Illinois<\/strong>, this coming weekend! While intended to reflect the breadth and vibrancy of what our friendly neighborhood filmmakers have been producing during the past year or so, it also has become something of a destination event for the practitioners of film culture du C-U! Below is our press announcement, after which is a link that will take you to the complete program on the official NAFF Web site. This is always a cool opportunity to revel in what our community members can accomplish and be inspired to do it yourself! Church St., Champaign, IL<\/strong>, will play host for the sixth year running to this homegrown movie showcase on <strong>Sunday, October 4, 2015<\/strong>, during which festival director <strong>Jason Pankoke<\/strong> will guide hundreds of citizen-<em>cineastes<\/em> through a program boasting nearly 40 pieces. The NAFF, presented by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong><\/span> and co-sponsored by <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"ThirdSide :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/thirdside.co\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>ThirdSide<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Shatterglass Studios :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/shatterglassstudios.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Shatterglass Studios<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, and the Art Co-op, will begin at <strong>5 p.m.<\/strong> on the 4th and end at approximately <strong>11 p.m.<\/strong> Admission is free to all NAFFanatics who attend!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Highlights of the 2015 NAFF schedule include:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Pens to Lens<\/strong> \u2013 The <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Pens to Lens :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/penstolens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">pioneering short-film program<\/a><\/span> organized by <strong>Champaign Movie Makers<\/strong> and the <strong>Champaign-Urbana Film Society<\/strong> is well represented at the NAFF this year! Look for <strong>WHAT\u2019S THE PASSWORD?, THE MOOSE EMERGENCY, ZACK AND THE MOUNTAIN MAN, SUNSHINE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE<\/strong>, and <strong>MR. SNUGGLES<\/strong> in the schedule; made by volunteer teams of C-U filmmaking\u2019s finest, all are adapted from movie scripts written by K-12 students living in our immediate area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>UNA MUJER SIN PRECIO 1961 <\/strong>&amp;<strong> LAS FIERAS 1969<\/strong> \u2013 Mexican genre filmmaker <strong>Juan Francisco Moctezuma II<\/strong> ladled his low-budget productions with blunt metaphor and topical references. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"SEARCHING FOR FRANCISCO :: Blue Bassoon Pictures\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bluebassoon.net\/moctezumaII.html\" target=\"_blank\">One by one, his flicks are being restored<\/a><\/span> by NAFF alumnus <strong>Alaric Rocha<\/strong> of <strong>Chicago<\/strong>; let\u2019s see how good they look \u2013 and, better yet, how well they play \u2013 today!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>THE CROSSING<\/strong> \u2013 Fellow NAFF alumnus <strong>Johnnie May<\/strong>, who earned C-U movie street cred long ago as a veteran of the <strong>Freaky Film Festival<\/strong>, shares <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"THE CROSSING trailer @ YouTube\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_LDVIqJ_w8M\" target=\"_blank\">his latest hand-made, hand-animated film<\/a><\/span> from <strong>Madison, Wisconsin<\/strong>! A scrap-collecting robot in a vivid wasteland happens upon the well-preserved remains of a cabin \u2026 and discovers it might <em>not<\/em> be deserted after all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>ART BTS<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>WILL-TV 12<\/strong> in Urbana and producer <strong>Tim Meyers<\/strong> have been kind enough to lend us three episodes from <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"ART BTS :: WILL-TV\/Illinois Public Media\" href=\"http:\/\/will.illinois.edu\/artbts\" target=\"_blank\" media=\"\">their profile series on local artists<\/a><\/span>.
