On display at the <strong>University Galleries<\/strong> of the <strong>College of Fine Arts, Illinois State University, Normal<\/strong>, is a survey of a dozen pieces by ISU alumnus <strong>Terry Adkins<\/strong> (1953-2014) called &#8220;<strong>Soldier Shepherd Prophet Martyr: Videos from 1998-2013<\/strong>&#8221; running through <strong>Sun., Apr. 3<\/strong>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Soldier Shepherd Prophet Martyr: Videos from 1998-2013 :: University Galleries, College of Fine Arts, ISU\" href=\"http:\/\/finearts.illinoisstate.edu\/galleries\/current-exhibitions\/2016\/Adkins\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">The exhibition notes describe the output<\/a><\/span> of musician and multimedia artist Adkins as \u201ccommanding works about revolutionary spirits who triumphed over adversity and effected meaningful change\u201d including heralded individuals like <strong>John Brown<\/strong> and <strong>Bessie Smith<\/strong> as well as obscure figures like <strong>Arctic<\/strong> explorer <strong>Matthew Henson<\/strong>. A bit more time remains to visit the <strong>Art Institute of Chicago<\/strong> and experience the trio of slide projection pieces making up &#8220;<strong>Dennis Oppenheim: Projections<\/strong>,&#8221; on display in <strong>Gallery 186<\/strong> until <strong>Mon., May 30<\/strong>.
