SAG-AFTRA visits CMM Feb. 19

With involvement from the Champaign-Urbana community on the rise and the group project THE FAMINE now completed, Champaign Movie Makers will strengthen its role as a vital resource for local filmmakers during their next get-together on Tuesday, February 19, 7 p.m., at SoDo Theatre, 113 S. Neil St., Champaign! This month’s topic is “SAG-AFTRA on a Budget” and will feature guest speaker Kathy Byrne, Director of TV/Theatrical Contracts, SAG-AFTRA Chicago. Per the event description issued by CMM, “Filmmakers will get to hear about the various low-budget film contracts that SAG-AFTRA has to offer… Actors will learn about how to work on these low-budget films alongside professional performers, and anything [they] want to know about being a member of SAG-AFTRA.” As usual, the meeting will open with brief comments from audience members and close with networking time and a trip to a downtown Champaign nightspot!

Contact CMM director Thomas Nicol at ChampaignMovieMakers [at] gmail [dot] com for further details, frequent their Facebook and Ning pages for announcements, and be sure to visit their just-launched YouTube channel loaded with film work created by CMM members!
