Expansive doc explores Mozart

As the world-wide, 250th anniversary celebration of the birth of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) winds down, the Prairie Ensemble has arranged a local screening of the British documentary, IN SEARCH OF MOZART. It will be shown tomorrow, Sunday, January 21, 2 p.m., in the “Multipurpose Auditorium” of Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign, IL. Directed by Phil Grabsky, the 128-minute film will be followed by a coffee-and-pastry reception; admission will be $20 for adults and $10 for students.

Since its public premiere in January 2006, IN SEARCH OF MOZART has been released theatrically and/or on DVD in England, Australia, and the Netherlands, although the documentary is not commercially available in the United States.
