Ye Ed is back in MFHQ Deux this week, but Mr. JaPan just isn’t feeling the writing need. Hope our dearest readers are supporting the local films by attending FINAL SUMMER at the Virginia Theatre on Thursday and YOU’RE OUT! at the Savoy 16 + IMAX on Saturday. There’s also DESPERATE SOULS from Chicago’s Acrostar Films showing at the Princess Theater in LeRoy next Saturday, August 19, in the immediate region where they filmed, and the Midwest premiere of the documentary FIELDS OF GOLD on Decatur legend A. E. Staley and the former A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company at the revived Lincoln Square Theatre on September 16. All these projects and many more that we’ve been mentioning in the last few years need to find broad audiences who are outside the bounds of downstate Illinois to hit their maximum potential, but it’s always positive to show the makers we have their best interests at heart with strong community outpouring. Dig in and do your cultural diligence, folks. That is all, and everything.
