Yes indeed, Serdar will kick ass!

Alrighty, people, I’m done crying in my beer. Let’s crank this shit up to 11 for it is April in UIUC-land, which means the annual flood of local cultural madness is upon us! But then, who would have ever thought that the road to admission in the United States for the following would run through Shampoo-Banana, of all places:

It would have been too easy to post this on or around April Fool’s Day, but we resisted for the mere fact that this epic actually exists. Dark Maze Studios of Champaign has done the near-impossible and licensed a legitimate slice of Turkish rip-off cinema, dubbed it into English, and slated it for DVD release on Friday, April 24, smack dab in the middle of “Ebertfest“! Yep, RAMPAGE a.k.a KORKUSUZ, a budget-minded nod to the RAMBO mania of the Eighties made during that decade, marches forth onto American shores where no similar production has gone before. Is our great country ready for top-billed Serdar, even if he’s launching those sweet-sounding grenades 23 years after the fact?

We’ll let you ponder the outer limits of the universe as you watch the RAMPAGE trailer over and over again in disbelief. In fact, you can relive the rippling mayhem in public when this and other Dark Maze previews play the first-ever C-U Confidential local film show at Caffe Paradiso, 801 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, IL, as part of this year’s county-wide Boneyard Arts Festival, on Friday, April 17, starting at 6 p.m. Keep an eye on C-U Blogfidential in the coming days for we’ll be announcing the complete schedule very shortly.

‘Til then, what are you waiting for? Mark that date on your calendar, dear readers! Also book that last-minute ad in CUZine this week, for we’re counting on you to help us make the magic happen!
