JigGsaw video shoot tonight

If you’re of the mind to have your “in crowd” status recorded for all eternity, then the free JigGsaw concert at The Highdive, 51 Main St., Champaign, IL, taking place tonight, Friday, October 20, 9 p.m., might just be your gig. Along with enjoying the free admission and healthy doses of rock-n-roll, you will have the opportunity to help populate the video footage to be shot by Springfield-based Banddot.com, which will appear on their eponymous Web site and an eventual DVD release. The first 50 fans who show up will also receive a free copy of the recent JigGsaw record, Zero Generation (Playing Field Recordings/Poor Fool Records), so is there any question as to how the beginning of your weekend should be spent? The madness is sponsored by Banddot.com, The Highdive, and WPGU 107.1 FM.

And, for those of you who can’t wait for the other Jigsaw to hit theaters next weekend in SAW III, local mail-order horror queen Jill Van Voorst of LIX has the solution for you – AMERICAN PSYCHO (2000), starring Christian Bale and directed by Mary Harron (THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE). This controversial black comedy of Yuppiedom gone bloody bonkers will play a few blocks away at Boardman’s Art Theatre, 126 W. Church St., Champaign, just after midnight; expect Halloween goodies and giveaway prizes galore!
