12 days left to enter NAFF ‘13

It’s time to get those movies of Champaign, Urbana, and the cities beyond submitted to the fourth annual New Art Film Festival, dearest filmmakers! Programmed by yours truly on behalf of C-U Confidential, the Art Theater Co-op, and the Boneyard Arts Festival presented by 40 North 88 West, the NAFF is an anomaly in the festival landscape because it takes regional (or, some might say, “micro-urban”) filmmaking seriously as entertainment, history, and ephemera. We are fortunate the C-U can foster such a subculture to have alongside the traditional fine and performing arts.

The NAFF is set to amaze the masses on Friday, April 12, from 5 p.m. to Midnight. Entries are due to the Art by Friday, March 8, 5 p.m. CST. (Yes, that’s next week.) A little bit more detail for the diehards can be found after the jump; we’re avidly awaiting your work!

At this time, the NAFF concentrates on showing the best in Illinois-made independent cinema with a stress on the local, given our association with the annual Champaign County Boneyard Arts Festival presented by 40 North 88 West. However, we do encourage artists from Chicago, Carbondale, Springfield, Decatur, et al, to consider the NAFF for their work!
