IOW: Fans revel in NAFF night life

~~~~~
Although we at the Secret MICRO-FILM Headquarters will be awash for some time in reflection and contemplation given that C-U Blogfidential hit its 10th anniversary today, we remain focused on delivering the well-honed coverage you expect from us regarding everything and everyone else in the movie culture of Champaign, Urbana, and the cities beyond. As for being punctual in that effort, well, sometimes we slip a little. Let’s illustrate this point with the very illustrations we owe friends of the New Art Film Festival, especially those appearing in Dora Valkanova’s images shot from the sidelines of our sixth annual showcase on October 4 at the Art Theater Co-op in Champaign. Joining us for her second year, the resourceful Valkanova took advantage of breaks in the uncertain fall weather to direct photo opportunities out front, using the rich evening sky and lit Art marquee as a backdrop. We finally share a selection from that evening as our “Images of the Week;” many individuals who contributed to NAFF 2015 entries appear below such as Molly Cooper, Cara Day, Brian Hagy, Jeff Kacmarynski, Johnnie May, Tim Meyers, David Noreen, Brian Reedy, Ripper the Clown, Brian Robertson, Matt Shivers, and Andrew Stengele. Also be sure to hover your mouse over each grouping for pop-up captions with extra details. (If we did not identify someone who would like their name added, please drop a line at newartfilmfestivalcu [at] gmail [dot] com with the information.) These and other previously unseen pictures from the past two festivals will make their way shortly to the official Facebook page and Web site, so be on the lookout for a fresh flood of festive NAFF faces! Of course, please tag and share them within reason and with proper credit to let everyone in your circles know about our community’s filmmaking niche and the work emerging from it. We plan to pony up first news about the 2016 edition later in the spring and we’d love for you to spread that wealth as well! Once again, we thank our audience members, movie creators, generous volunteers, and outstanding host venue for doing their part in bringing the New Art Film Festival to fruition. There would be much less of worth to see in the C-U without that which you all do. Cheers!
