CMM open to FOOD in May, June

Hopefully, guests traveling to Champaign-Urbana this week to work on the independent feature film FOOD will receive a bit of down time to explore their temporary residence. If you can be counted among this group and have located us already then we’d like to formally introduce C-U Blogfidential, a gateway into the growing little world of the movies of Champaign, Urbana, and the cities beyond. We welcome Daryl Wein, Zoe Lister-Jones, and everyone else from afar partaking in the show!

Although core members of the Champaign Movie Makers networking group will inevitably make their way to the FOOD set during production, there is nothing like relaxing meet-and-greet time with folks sharing common interest in what you do. CMM will congregate once in June during shooting, but conveniently the next get-together is scheduled for later tonight, Tuesday, May 20, 7 p.m., at Shatterglass Studios, 309 S. Neil St., Champaign! This month’s topic is “Preproduction Skill Share;” CMM director Thomas Nicol will politely prod attendees about their preferred techniques and tricks used to get prepared by the first day of filming, while extra attention will be devoted to the ongoing Pens to Lens: Year 2 short film projects overtaking the county by storm! Audience members will be invited to open the meeting with announcements, after which some may while the remaining night away in nearby downtown Champaign. Visitors who crop up from the FOOD camp are certainly invited to mingle!

Contact Nicol at ChampaignMovieMakers [at] gmail [dot] com for further details, frequent their Facebook and Ning pages for announcements, and be sure to visit their YouTube channel loaded with film work created by CMM members. That goes for everyone else in the C-U, too!
