The scenes from a film culture that we have been watching mostly from afar fill us with mild disenchantment instead of wonder. And then we were ordered to self-shelter and keep personal spaces to ourselves. Joy.

A new movie show is about to land on the (snow) banks of Champaign-Urbana in the effort to freak us out … for fun! The Krampusnacht Freeky Film Festival will fill up SoDo Theatre on December 7, 2019.

There’s really not much more to say on behalf of the New Art Film Festival. We need a short break from it publicly, starting now, even though we won’t get a break from it privately until further notice.

Students at the University of Illinois have more options to breathe in and produce the cinema then they know. We update today on the UI Golden Corn Student Film Festival and the Illinois Film Office’s Shortcuts contest.

All systems are go for several cool film events coming to the area! Learn about them and postulate what might become of the orphaned New Art Film Festival now that the Art Theater is a cinematic sitting duck.

Currently-enrolled students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign know what’s going down on campus more than we do, but we can always toss up a little friendly advice on their behalf.

A decade is a long while to be pulling one’s own weight in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, but the New Art Film Festival has managed such a feat. Get involved in marking the milestone by entering your film in Year 10!

The College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has announced the movies to be showcased at the twenty-first annual edition of Roger Ebert’s Film Festival.

Even though the 21st iteration of Roger Ebert’s Film Festival will not arrive until April, fans can get an early look at the first announced selection, A YEAR OF THE QUIET SUN, direct from Poland if they so choose.

We may have legitimacy, dependability, and a long track record, but we don’t have all the answers. Who does? It’s time to reflect on the need for the New Art Film Festival in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

Since we won’t be at the Secret MICRO-FILM Headquarters tonight to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, we instead drop a few bitter-or-sweet morsels into this virtual grab bag. Boo!

The ninth annual New Art Film Festival, a curated selection of recent independent film shorts made in downstate Illinois, will take place on October 29, 2018, at the Art Theater in Champaign, IL. Details await you!

The New Art Film Festival has added time to their Call for Entries. The final date to send in submissions is now September 7, 2018. They want to see your stuff, Champaign-Urbana. Really, they do.
