Our man Mike Trippiedi is at it again. His second feature film as director, AMBER ROSE, is now available for viewing through Amazon. He also maintains two Weblogs in the spirit of his early movie writings. Will nothing stop this Champaign juggernaut?

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Ed Glaser and Dark Maze Studios are at it again! Today we find them throwing public domain movie stars into the mix of their Hong Kong inspired Web series NINJA THE MISSION FORCE and seeing where they stick!

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Putting the “do” in “do it yourself” with interesting results, Chris Eitel of the C-U band Elsinore depicts domestic strife using stop motion in his music video for the group’s song, “Life Inside an Elephant.”

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: A slight detour is taken as we present rare video of a stage production written and directed by Champaign filmmaker Mike Trippiedi for the Celebration Company at the Station Theatre in Urbana in 1996, “Caged Vixens.”

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Stop, drop, and watch the new music video for “Lovesick” by Morgan Orion, produced by Sam Ambler and Matt HarsH, the latter whom we discuss further because he concocts cool musician/projection hybrids in clubs. Of course, we have a clip!

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Once upon a time in 2010, Kill Vampire Lincoln Productions of Champaign produced a comedy-action short called ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1972 which eventually gave birth to ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1973 not too long ago in 2011. Got it? Good.

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Get groovy with the ghoulies invading this week’s installment, in which we posit scientifical evidence that local-ish movies such as THE WINDOW INTO TIME and DOUBLE DOSE OF TERROR!! really exist.

From the “Images of the Week” Dept.: Although media activists Stephanie Stean and Paul Holze have relocated from the C-U to Tucson, Arizona, we’re updating the status of their life-in-South Africa documentary, THE STORY OF HAPPINESS, including what it has to do with YouTube’s push to propagate original content!
